If you’re visiting in peak season, golf is the perfect way to get away from the crowds but still do something fun, physical, and beautiful.

It’s a tough play and beginners may find it frustrating. But intermediate and experienced golfers will relish the challenge of the weather-carved peaks and valleys, deadly brush, unpredictable winds, and the ever-present stunning views.
Proserpine Golf Club
Another challenging course that shouldn’t be missed, Proserpine is set on a luxury resort in the sugar cane fields.
Open to the public 7 days a week, the course is as spectacular as it is testing, featuring idyllic views, a variety of local wildlife, and the only golf simulator in Queensland. If the weather turns, you can still get a round of golf in!
Bowen Golf Club
Nestled to the north along the Whitsundays coast is Bowen Golf Club. Almost a century old and featuring just 9 holes, it’s a great place to get in a quick round when you only have a couple of hours to spare.
Those who enjoy links-style courses will have fun with this one. It even features the wicked ocean winds that will challenge your every shot.
Collinsville Golf Club
Collinsville is a bushveld golf course that’s entirely run by volunteers. It’s a 9-hole course that’s relaxing and has no pressure. Although it’s volunteer-run, the course is kept in pristine condition. You can tell you’re in the company of golf lovers!
Whitsunday Green Club
A quirky, quick, 9-hole, par-3 course, Whitsunday Green Club is the ideal spot to spend a few hours with the family, especially if you’ve got kids. Have a delicious breakfast or lunch at the Club House Café to round off the experience.
